Saskatoon Engineering Society engaging in religious discrimination and bigotry while calling itself local agent for APEGS

See the webpage obtained by clicking on the Christmas mixer event link at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/2019-saskatoon-engineering-society-christmas-mixer-tickets-85451689303#
The Saskatoon Engineering Society is showing off its religious discrimination and bigotry against people who don't believe in Christianity while highlighting its association with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).  On this Christmas mixer event webpage, Saskatoon Engineering Society states, " The Saskatoon Engineering Society (SES) has a mandate to advance the engineering profession and related societies by assisting in information exchange between Society members and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) Council by acting as a local agent and focal point to promote matters pertaining to the education and awareness of the profession."  As you can see, Saskatoon Engineering Society is stating on its Christmas event webpage that it's a local agent of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).  The APEGS Executive Committee and Governing Board should look at this.

The only reason Saskatoon Engineering Society would keep doing this after I repeatedly complained is to assert the superiority of Christianity instead of respecting diversity.  Saskatoon Engineering Society is a bastion of bigotry and Christian supremacy.  Since I started complaining, they have gotten worse, not better.  Saskatoon Engineering Society needs to be defunded and delisted as an APEGS constituent society.

People argue that Christmas is secular to non-Christians, but the non-Christians they’re talking about are mostly of Christian ancestry and the same can be said about all religious holidays.  Hanukkah is secular to non-Jews who are of Jewish ancestry and Eid al-Fitr is secular to non-Muslims who are of Muslim ancestry, but Saskatoon Engineering Society isn't having parties for Hanukkah, Eid al-Fitr, or any other religion.

APEGS Connections & Involvement Committee Chair Didn't Let Me Talk to the Committee

I complained to the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) in December 2018 about its funding of the Saskatoon Engineering Society.  APEGS said it would provide my complaint to its Connections & Involvement Committee (C&I Committee), which is responsible for providing grants to constituent societies like the Saskatoon Engineering Society.  Since January 8, 2019, I have repeatedly asked to directly speak to the APEGS Connections & Involvement Committee and this committee has had several meetings since then, but the  chair of the committee, Jaylyn Obrigewitsch, didn't let me speak to the committee.  This is totally outrageous.  Christian supremacy and Christian religious discrimination and bigotry by a constituent society of APEGS should have been the top priority of the APEGS Connections & Involvement Committee.  The chair of the APEGS Connections & Involvement Committee, Jaylyn Obrigewitsch, should have let me speak to the committee at its next meeting following my request.  The fact that the chair of the APEGS Connections & Involvement Committee didn't let me speak to the committee over eight months after I first requested this shows that they don't take the problem of Christian supremacy and Christian religious discrimination and bigotry seriously enough.  A new chair of the APEGS Connections & Involvement Committee was appointed in September 2019.  However, this matter has now been assigned to the APEGS governing board and executive committee.

APEGS should stop funding Saskatoon Engineering Society

The following email was sent to Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS):

This email is in regard to our conversation about Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) funding the Saskatoon Engineering Society while it is engaged in religious discrimination against people who aren't Christian.  I have forwarded you my emails to Saskatoon Engineering Society about this.  I want APEGS to totally stop funding Saskatoon Engineering Society.

Saskatoon Engineering Society is having an annual Christmas party.  I wouldn't go to a Christmas party because I don't want to participate in celebrations of a holiday or religion I don't believe in and because I oppose many of the beliefs of Christianity.  I find it offensive that a supposedly secular organization like Saskatoon Engineering Society would be promoting a religious holiday.

People argue that Christmas is secular to non-Christians, but the non-Christians they’re talking about are mostly of Christian ancestry and the same can be said about all religious holidays.  Hanukkah is secular to non-Jews who are of Jewish ancestry and Eid al-Fitr is secular to non-Muslims who are of Muslim ancestry, but Saskatoon Engineering Society isn't having parties for Hanukkah or Eid al-Fitr.  Saskatoon Engineering Society is giving preferential treatment to the Christian holiday.  People who aren't Christian who think it's okay to give preferential treatment to Christmas/Christianity are willing to accept the tyranny of the majority and should have more honor, self-esteem, and dignity.

Saskatoon Engineering Society is receiving funding from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan, the organization that the government has entrusted with regulating the engineering profession in Saskatchewan, so it has an obligation to keep its events secular.

I don't understand why executives in Saskatoon Engineering Society feel the need to mention their religious holiday Christmas in the name of the event.  Why wouldn't Saskatoon Engineering Society keep it secular?  Saskatoon Engineering Society isn't a church.  Saskatoon Engineering Society executives can promote their religion and religious holiday to their hearts' desire on their own without using Saskatoon Engineering Society.

Saskatoon Engineering Society is giving preferential treatment to Christmas/Christianity, which makes religious minorities and atheists feel like their beliefs are considered second class or not as important.  Saskatoon Engineering Society should stick to engineering, not religion.

Considering the extremely diverse make-up of the engineering profession, I'll bet the majority of Saskatoon Engineering Society members are not Christian or of Christian ancestry and don't celebrate Christmas.  How would the executives of Saskatoon Engineering Society like if Saskatoon Engineering Society promoted an annual Scientologist party or annual Sikh party and no party from any other religion?

I didn't attend their Christmas party is because I don’t celebrate a Christian holiday like Christmas and I don't appreciate them using an engineering society to give preferential treatment to their Christian holiday after I've repeatedly complained about this to them.  Now they don't even bother responding to my complaints.  As professional engineers, they should show more professionalism in respecting diversity, especially considering most of their organization isn't even Christian.

This isn't a Christian country.  It's a secular multireligious country.  Indigenous people were forcibly indoctrinated into Christianity in residential schools.  Now nobody should be pushed into observing Christianity and the Christian holiday.  The Saskatoon Engineering Society should respect everybody instead of giving preferential treatment to Christianity.

Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan wouldn't fund Saskatoon Engineering Society if it was engaged in white supremacy, so why is it funding Saskatoon Engineering Society when it is engaged in Christian supremacy?  Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan should immediately stop funding Saskatoon Engineering Society.

RE: APEGS should stop funding Saskatoon Engineering Society

The following email was sent to Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS):

I would like to add to my complaint against funding of Saskatoon Engineering Society.  I just saw that Saskatoon Engineering Society has a Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Saskatoon-Engineering-Society-SES-1467806673241041/ on which it is advertising and showing off what it calls its "Christmas mixer."  I am attaching three screenshots and a saved graphical image of this.  Saskatoon Engineering Society hasn't responded to my repeated complaints about this during this year and last year.  Please add this information to my complaint.

Saskatoon Engineering Society isn't showing the professionalism that engineers should and isn't respecting diversity, even after my repeated complaints.  Saskatoon Engineering Society doesn't seem to understand that this isn't a Christian country and Christians shouldn't get preferential treatment in an engineering society.  APEGS must stop funding Saskatoon Engineering Society.

Saskatoon Engineering Society shouldn't be a constituent society of APEGS

The following email was sent to Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS):

I just saw that Saskatoon Engineering Society is listed as a constituent society of Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) at https://www.apegs.ca/Portal/Pages/constituent-societies
I would like Saskatoon Engineering Society to stop being a constituent society of APEGS in response to my complaint below too.
